Have you heard of an item called Tea Incense Burner (Cha Kouro)?

Yesterday, I went to Odaiba. Odaiba is located in bay area of Tokyo, which is famous for dating spot. Ah, don’t ask whether I went there for dating. Odaiba is also a good place for shopping where there are many shops and good to find out cool stuffs.

In one of the shop in Odaiba, I found a good tea incense burner (in Japanese it is called “Cha Kouro”). I knew that there is such thing, but I’ve never tried it. So I purchased one for my home to have a try. Burner is very simple, it has a little tray to put the tea on and a little space underneath the tray to put a candle. The way it works is same as aroma oil burner, but the tray is little more larger and shallow.

I tried green tea for testing. After few minutes I placed the lit candle, soft and gentle but nice and spicy savor filled my room. This is really awesome! For 40 to 50 minutes, the aroma of the green tea will continue. When you feel the aroma getting weak, you can stir the tea on the tray by the tea spoon to make it stronger. Nice aroma will make you relax…

You can either use tea leaves before extracting the tea or after extracting the tea. However if you want to recycle used tea leaves, you have to dry it before you use for incense. And of course, strongness of the aroma will be weaker than new tea leaves.

Being a Japanese tea lover, you need to have this item! Japanese tea is very versatile, you should not stop just drinking the tea. You can also use it as incense, you can also cook and eat, you can use it as odor remover, there are many usage. I will introduce other way of using Japanese tea in this blog.

So, would you like to have a Cha Kouro at your home? Do not worry, I decided to put this in Akiba Mart :)
